Today I am sharing some photos from the gorgeous Fiona & David’s engagement shoot. I really enjoy engagement shoots, it’s a great opportunity to get to know each other and help you get used to being in front of the camera 🙂 so if you’re thinking about booking an engagement shoot here are my top 3 reasons why you should do it!
1. To get used to the camera
An engagement shoot is a great way to get used to being in front of the camera before your wedding day. You can get used to having the camera on you and also practice some poses and find out what you you feel comfortable with and what you like.
It’s time dedicated to just getting some gorgeous couple shots. I always keep my engagement sessions relaxed, taking the time to get natural, fun shots of the two of you. Think of it as a practice run for your wedding day, you will know what to do and what works for you. Perhaps you prefer the more natural shots, or something a little more styled.
2. To get to know your photographer
It’s a great opportunity to get to know your photographer, and for your photographer to get to know you. It’s so important for you to find a photographer that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. And I love getting to know my couples on an engagement shoot, I get to know what they like, understand their personalities and how to get the best photos for them.
3. It’s a great way to celebrate your engagement!
It’s a great way to mark the occasion and celebrate your engagement! It’s lovely to have some engagement photos to look back on. You can choose a location you both love, or one that is significant to your relationship. Perhaps the place you had your first date, your favourite coffee shop or park. Or a London landmark that you love! There are so many options!
Fiona and David booked their engagement shoot so that they could get used to being in front of the camera so that they would feel more natural and relaxed on their wedding day. And for the location they choose to the gardens of Hampton Court palace, the setting was gorgeous and by the end of the shoot they felt much more relaxed.
