There’s something so special about a micro wedding, and Olivia & Nathan’s day at Chelsea Town Hall was a perfect example of just how beautiful and meaningful a small celebration can be.
They planned a heartfelt, intimate ceremony with just their parents by their side—no fuss, no stress, just the people who matter most. As a London wedding photographer who specialises in relaxed, documentary-style photography, it was such a joy to capture all the emotion, connection and quiet little moments that made this day unforgettable.
A Beautiful Micro Wedding at Chelsea Town Hall
Chelsea Town Hall is one of London’s most iconic wedding venues. Located on the King’s Road, it’s not only full of character and charm, but it’s also incredibly popular for civil ceremonies, especially micro weddings and elopements. With its grand stone steps and beautiful interiors, it’s the perfect backdrop for couples who want a stylish but low-key wedding in the heart of London.
Olivia & Nathan chose the Harrington Room, a warm and elegant space ideal for small ceremonies. Perfect for exchanging vows in front of your loved ones.

A Relaxed Approach for Camera-Shy Couples
Something I really appreciated about Olivia & Nathan was how honest they were about feeling a bit nervous in front of the camera. They told me early on that they weren’t super confident being photographed and wanted someone who would keep things relaxed and help them feel comfortable.
This is exactly why I work in a documentary style—no awkward posing or forced smiles. Just gentle guidance when needed and plenty of space to be yourselves. My goal is always to create a calm, supportive environment where even the most camera-shy couples can relax, enjoy their day, and actually forget the camera is even there.
By the end of our time together, Olivia & Nathan were laughing, chatting, and looking completely at ease in their photos—which always makes me so happy.

Natural, Documentary-Style Photography
For Olivia & Nathan, it was really important to have their wedding captured naturally, without anything feeling staged or forced. My approach is always relaxed and unobtrusive, allowing the day to unfold while I document the emotion, connection and joy as it happens.
From the quiet nerves before the ceremony to the beaming smiles and warm hugs afterwards, I focused on capturing all the little details that tell the story of their day. We took a few relaxed family photos just outside the Town Hall, followed by a short couple session around the surrounding Chelsea streets—charming, elegant, and full of character.

Why I Love Micro Weddings in London
London is the perfect city for a micro wedding. Whether you’re planning a small registry office ceremony or an intimate celebration with a handful of loved ones, the city offers endless options—from grand buildings like Chelsea Town Hall to hidden garden squares and cosy pubs for post-ceremony drinks.
Micro weddings are all about connection, and they allow couples to focus on what really matters: each other. As a photographer, I find these smaller celebrations often lead to the most emotional and meaningful images. There’s space to breathe, time to be present, and freedom to enjoy the day without pressure.
